What is a Calendar Appointment
A Calendar Appointment is an event, that is going to happen, or has happened at a particular time. You can use Calendar Appointment to track internal meetings with other users, business appointments with clients, customer interactions on support issues, and so on.

A Calendar Appointment consistes of the appointment detail info, a list of attendees and a list of references.

The users on the list of attendees (except the appointment creator), will receive E-Mail invitations. They can accept or reject the invitation.

You can add various business entities (Customer, Contact, Opportunity, Case, Bug, ...) to an appointment's reference list. If you add multiple entities to the reference list, the appointment would also appear on each of those entities' "History" section.

You can also quick create an Calendar Appointment in most of the business entity's History page. By default, the login user would be added to the attendee list, and the business entity itself would be added to the reference list.
