You're right there are a few points (cf. your questions) that could make you think this project is not alive !
But I can tell you it is.
From France, I'm very actively working (on a day to day basis) with the development team of ebsuite and they work hard, we're actually translating this solution in French with already several customers. They are also developping a lot of new functions (like territory realignment, alerters, new reports...) that are really useful for us.
The PDA and Outlook synchronisation should arrive by the end of this year.
So things are really moving forward and the product is really good.
